RRCI - Callisto

Red Rocket Consortium, Inc. is a company specializing in cross-platform database solutions and technology consulting. We support Open Source software and Open Source operating systems.

Our operations are based in the United States, and we have representation for Europe in the Czech Republic. While we offer standardized products, namely Jupiter III and Callisto, we are also open to custom application design and implementation. We do not use programming sweat shops, such as those in operation in Asia.

RRCI also acts as an umbrella organization for other small enterprises, whether their focus is technology or not.

We recognized that technology was being kept out of the hands of the common man because of what amounts to a dirty trick -- technobabble.

A computer is not really that hard to use. Yet for some reason, perfectly intelligent people have considerable difficulty using them.

The reason is dastardly but simple: a whole vocabulary has been developed that is opaque to the common user. Even technical people cannot agree on the meaning of certain words, and so new terms are borrowed or created, and we all are worse off for it.

We design our applications around the vocabulary of business and people. We don't assume that a picture (icon) is worth a thousand words, but that words have meaning, normal every day meaning, and we should use them that way.
